The Kendall Youth Employment Program (KYEP) can offer subsidized employment to youth who qualify. Youth are trained in entry-level jobs at local employers such as at YMCA's, nursing homes, factories, and stores; youth wages are paid by a workforce grant. Youth must be 16-21 years old, live in Kendall, Kane, or Dekalb counties, and meet income requirements. KYEP is a program of the Grundy-Kendall Regional Office of Education and is funded by the River Valley Workforce Investment Board.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
