Brenart Eye Clinic Brenart Eye Clinic Yorkville, IL Yorkville, IL Part-time Full-time Part-time Full-time From $18 an hour From $18 an hour 21 hours ago 21 hours ago 21 hours ago POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for efficient and friendly admission of patients into the clinic, for maintaining patient charts and other duties as directed by the front desk manager and/or assistant manager, for coordinating all telephone traffic for the clinical services as needed, and for making and scheduling follow-up appointments for patients in an efficient and timely manner.
LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES Maintains complete and accurate records and files.
Coordinates insurance and financial aspects of patient care with the appropriate business office staff and scheduling staff.
Schedule's procedures and follow-up care Coordinates specific scheduling requests as needed.
Greets and checks-in patients on their appointment day.
Answers the phone.
Prepares patient forms and consents.
Collects fees when appropriate.
Assists patient with consent forms as needed.
Demonstrates ability to operate and maintain copy machine, computer, and keyboard.
Maintains stock of office supplies.
Participates in safety and performance improvement programs as directed.
Gives occasional lunch and telephone relief for other staff.
Performs other duties as required.
Always maintains HIPAA.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School graduate preferred.
EXPERIENCE Familiarity with medical and vision insurance preferred.
Spanish speaking desirable.
1-3 years front desk/secretary/receptionist experience preferred but not required.
Read, write, communicate, and present a neat professional appearance.
Create a good impression as a friendly, empathetic, composed, and efficient individual, as this position typically has the first contact- phone or face to face- with the patient.
Demonstrate reliability, a pleasant attitude, and a willingness to perform the duties as required.
Maintain and comply with patient confidentiality and integrity policy on all matters.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS May be a high-stress environment at times.
Sitting for 7-10 hours/day and multiple uses of the staircase to retrieve supplies, utilize the lunchroom, and enter/depart the building.
Must be able to enter keyboard data, dial the phone and use other office equipment for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift 10 lbs.
from floor to waist on a periodic basis.
